Contemporary Trends in Sociological Theorizing

The content of the course focuses around the research interests of students, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, is open to the discussion of the most important topical issues of contemporary sociological theory. Students’ work focuses on the analysis and discussion of theoretical publications in English and sociological peer-reviewed journals in order to integrate graduate students in the most recent agenda of academic debates on innovative research findings that stimulate the development of contemporary theoretical sociology. Study formats - lectures, practical tasks and modular control. The course helps to strengthen professional language skills of graduate students, enrich their professional academic vocabulary in sociological terminology, as well as develop academic skills of writing abstracts, discussion and presentation.
