Gender and Family: Parenting and Care in Modern Ukraine

The discipline is focused on the features and consequences of the transformation of the gender order on the example of the institution of the family in modem Ukraine. Its theoretical and methodological foundations are based on the framework of gender, socio-cultural analysis and feminist theories. The course will address; issues of marriage, childhood and parenthood in families, modern procedures of care and care in families and beyond, the impact of social structure on fatherhood and motherhood in modern Ukraine, discourses and practices of motherhood and fatherhood in modem Ukraine, civic activism of parents in Ukraine.
