Sociology of Gender

The course systematizes knowledge about the specifics of sociological approach to gender studies, current state of gender relations and gender order in Ukraine in comparison with other contemporary societies. Students will get acquainted with international comparative research, which includes cover gender issues, and use these data for further research in the field of gender studies. The course is based on a combination of lectures and practical classes. The main activities in the practical classes are discussions, analysis of primary and secondary sociological data. At the end of the course, students present an analytical report (up to 10 pages) on sociological analysis of one of the current issues of gender, based on read publications and sociological data / or their own research.
