In 1984, he graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. 1984-1987 - postgraduate studies at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In 1987, he defended his thesis "Social Philosophy of American Neoconservatism: A Critical Analysis" and received the degree of Candidate of Philosophy. 1994-1997 - doctoral studies at the Department of Sociology, University of Manchester ( Thesis: "Social Construction of Identity and School Policy in Ukraine") - Ph.D. in Sociology. He has been working at the Institute of Sociology since 1994, Leading Research Scientist, Head of the Sector of Theory and History of Sociology of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (2002-2012). Member of the Academic Council of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Member of the editorial board of the journal "Sociology: Theory, Methods, Marketing".
